time works its magic
a reversal of fortune
history repeats
a day by day retelling
future yet past all at once
it gets easier
i guess
to make excuses
when falling behind
to nap rather
than work
though work is too strong
a term
for a three line haiku
written nightly
to delude myself
that i’m accomplishing
anything at all
listening to leroy
i’d forgotten the genius
guitar vocal bliss
fell asleep too soon
i didn’t make the deadline
exhaustion, she wins
she shakes uncontrolled
bone jarring fear her disguise
thunderstorm evening
sudden loss, so hard
sympathy doesn’t equate
your world falls apart
the sword will cut deep
spilling blood and carnations
as i now return
although you may think
you are wrong beyond belief
the point is not “mute”
my head just feels wrong
ribbons of noxious distaste
churn in their scheming
wasting my valued moments
reserved for introspection
broken people sing
hymns to the thrill of empty
vancancy of heart
